Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions that we have not covered in this section, you can always ask our specialists.

  1. When long-term insomnia, feelings of terror, anxiety, panic attacks, dizziness, and a sense of fear of death bother you.
  2. Intrusive thoughts, compulsive actions that cannot be explained but are done to protect oneself from someone or something.
  3. Feelings of being "persecuted, wanting to be killed," "the world around has changed," "thoughts not flowing correctly," experiencing "sounds" or "voices" that "comment on your actions, scold you, try to control your actions, and give commands on what to do."
  4. When you have or have had persistent suicidal thoughts, suicidal attempts, or self-harm.
  5. When you withdraw into yourself and are irritated by those around you. When you can't get out of bed and have lost the desire to eat or engage in hygiene routines.
  6. When you have no appetite. When you have lost weight rapidly, and therapists and endocrinologists are unsure what to do.
  7. When your memory has worsened, and your ability to concentrate has decreased. When you are irritable and agitated, and everyone around you annoys or disturbs you.
  8. When you constantly have a very good mood, your thoughts race very quickly, sleep is absent, and you behave inadequately with those around you.

If your relative has withdrawn into themselves, has poor eating and sleeping habits, listens to something or someone that isn't there, or constantly lies in bed and doesn't go outside. When your relative is in a very good mood, can't sleep at night, leads an antisocial lifestyle that is unusual for them, quits their job, and claims they will make millions. When your relative has attempted suicide or behaves aggressively towards others. When they express suicidal thoughts or have unhealthy eating habits, either eating poorly or excessively and engaging in food-related behaviors.

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor with advanced medical education and specialization. After making a diagnosis, a psychiatrist can conduct interviews or simply observe the patient's actions, expressions, and overall behavior. A professional psychiatrist does not need much time to understand the patient's pathology. Additionally, the psychiatrist can perform assessments using various diagnostic scales and order instrumental and biochemical tests. The diagnosis is established by considering the patient's complaints, the course of the illness, examination of the patient, and diagnostic methods. Afterward, pharmacological treatment is prescribed. Currently, there are no "old" or "new" treatment methods. Medication prescriptions are made in accordance with international protocols and quality standards, taking into account evidence-based medicine methods.

A psychologist can be a clinical psychologist or a specialist in general psychology who has higher psychological education and specialization. When a personal profile of a person's traits needs to be created. When a person needs a soulful conversation. When there are misunderstandings with others. When a person faces difficulties in communication. When personal development is required.

A psychotherapist is a specialist who has higher medical or psychological education and specialized training in psychotherapy. Sometimes, somatic doctors refer individuals to psychotherapists because they may be hesitant, for various reasons, to direct them to a psychiatrist (to avoid causing the patient to be alarmed about having a mental disorder). According to existing psychotherapy methods, a psychotherapist conducts therapeutic conversations or sessions to address the patient's issues. Acute psychoses, schizophrenia, manic states, dementia, epilepsy, endogenous depression, and severe neurotic depression are not suitable for treatment through psychotherapy alone. Psychotherapy can be used as an adjunctive treatment method for these conditions. All these conditions are related to biochemical disturbances in the substances of the brain and therefore require medication treatment.

Hypnosis is one of the methods of psychotherapy, belonging to suggestive techniques, which involve inducing or self-inducing a trance-like state. It is a medical and social concept involving a complex set of techniques involving verbal and auditory influence on a person's psyche. Hypnosis can be used by psychiatrists, psychotherapists, addiction medicine specialists, and medical psychologists who have undergone specialized training. The correct term is "hypnotherapy." The state of hypnosis is not similar to ordinary sleep and cannot be induced against a person's will. It can enhance the possibility of recalling repressed memories. Hypnosis cannot force a person to recall information that has been lost due to drug use or make them perform actions that are not typical for them.

Indications for hypnosis include neurotic conditions accompanied by fear, anxiety, irritability, hysteria, and alcoholism coding. However, it is important to note that hypnosis is not suitable for individuals who have had epileptic seizures or alcohol hallucinosis. Hypnosis can also be considered for treating gambling addiction, with the patient's consent. Contraindications for hypnosis include acute psychoses, severe organic brain damage, dementia, hallucinations, delusional ideas, epilepsy, states of narcotic or alcohol intoxication, schizophrenia, manic states, and severe depressive states.

Reviews from patients and their relatives

Iryna
Iryna

Pechersk district

I turned to the "Rena" center for help with panic attacks. Like many others, I thought I could overcome them on my own, but with each passing day, the situation worsened. It wasn't a life; it was a constant fear. Thanks to sessions with psychiatrist Oleksandr and other collaborating specialists, I forgot about this problem, like a bad dream. Definitely forever!

Just a huge thank you to all the doctors who dealt with our family issue. They successfully treated my husband for a whole bouquet of problems. The facility is conveniently located in the city center, with ample parking available at all times. They are ready to listen and provide information about the patient's condition at any time of day. Highly recommended.
